Our Mission
Be the national leader for archival, preservation and restoration of the Public Land Survey System in a state.
Corner Markers
One of our mandates is the corner restoration program. Under this program, Professional Surveyors are paid to restore public land survey system corners by refurbishing, or establishing updated monuments. There are over 20,000 certified corner records in the archive and more are restored each year. These records protect the public.
Survey Plats
We are among the first in the nation to provide access to a digital archive of land survey plats. This is in keeping with ACA 17-48-106. It is a remarkable system with over 260,000 records. The plats are filed in accordance with Arkansas Code 17-48-106 for the sole purpose of identifying the person or persons who made the plat and survey and placed the survey markers.
Survey Complaint
We have the authority under ACA 15-21-206 to receive and investigate complaints against any surveyor and to present the results from the investigation of complaints to the State Board of Licensure for Professional Engineers and Professional Surveyors. We take this role very seriously for the benefit of the public and Professional Surveyors alike.

To our Subscribers @ Plats.Arkansas.gov: Our surveyors have requested more security for the Plats they submit to us. We have learned that older Plat documents are being misused. In an effort to provide more security, we will be updating the Division of Land Surveys’ website to include secured logins for our Assessors and Surveyors. All other public users will be required to download a secured viewer to access the Plats they download and view. This viewer will limit the printing and copying of Plats. All users will still have the functionality to research, locate and view plats in the archive using the same search functions we used to have.
About Us
Welcome to the Division of Land Surveys. The Division is responsible for the restoration of the U.S. General Land Office original corner monuments of Arkansas. This includes documenting and publishing detailed certificates of the corner locations for future generations. The Division establishes uniform professional surveying and mapping standards, administers the rules by referring evidence of violations to the State Board of Professional Engineers and Professional Surveyors. The Division is responsible for receiving, filing and publishing land survey plats of Arkansas for public inspection.
