About

This service is provided by the Division of Land Surveys, a division of the Arkansas GIS Office.  This site provides access to digital copies of the plats and corner restoration certification records filed by the Division of Land Surveys. Users can access plat information by searching on township-range-section or county.  The site is populated with plats submitted to the Division of Land Surveys.  Note: our plat viewer must be downloaded in order to view the plats under Public Plat Access.

Online Plat Retrieval System Process

The following information is intended to provide users a clear understanding of the process by which plats are made available via the Online Plat Retrieval System. State Surveyor Office staff work on plats as they are received (since July 1, 2005).  Generally all information is available online within 4 weeks after they are received in the State Surveyor Office.  Understanding the process by which plats become available in the system can assist users in determining why their filed plats are not located when performing a search.

Plat Filing Statute     AR Code § 17-48-106 – Failure to file a boundary survey

“A licensed surveyor is not required to file a plat until he or she has been paid for performing the survey.” AR Code § 17-48-106 (a)(1)

“A licensed surveyor shall file the plat with the Division of Land Surveys of the Arkansas Geographic Information Systems Office within thirty (30) days after payment for performing the survey or the plat is completed, whichever event occurs last.” AR Code § 17-48-106 (a)(2)

“The provisions of this chapter shall not apply to surveys hereafter made of subdivided property located in a municipality where property has previously been surveyed and a plat filed.” AR Code § 17-48-106 (c)

Plat Filing Guidelines (Division of Land Surveys)

It is strongly preferred, but not required, to submit plats by email. Plats to file should be sent to plats@arkansas.gov. Hard copy plats can still be submitted to Division of Land Surveys, 501 Woodlane Street, Suite G-04, Little Rock, AR  72201 for filing as well.

Emailed plats should conform to the following:

  1. Plats must be in .pdf format.
  2. PDF plats must be clear and legible.
  3. PDF plats must be in correct orientation.
  4. PDF file naming is up to the surveyor as long as there are no special characters (%$&,*) in the file name.
  5. Email subject should be PS# and then PLATS TO FILE. Example: 1815 PLATS TO FILE
  6. Email body should contain the surveyors name, PS number, and phone number.
  7. If a plat for a single survey covers multiple pages, combine into one multi-page PDF document before submittal.

If you have any questions regarding plat filing, please contact Jordan Chung-Lee at 501-683-1666.  If prompted, please leave a message and someone will call you back shortly.
